Overstock.com Stop Motion Commercial
Here is the stop motion commercial Benny Zelkowicz and I animated for Jamie Caliri and Dektor Films this last Christmas. We used Dragon Stop Motion the Holy Grail of Frame Grabbers. I will never use a Video Lunchbox again. More on that in a following post.

This whole commercial and all the animation in it was created IN CAMERA (with the exception of rig removal on the flying pillows!). We had two rehearsal days and four animation days. We shot on 35mm film, most shots were motion control but we also used Dragon Stop Motion's manual hand camera move calculator to shoot the tilt up the Christmas tree because the motion control unit was needed on another stage.

WOW, Ten! That's friggin' sweet. I'm thinking of getting a Mac Mini, do you think the 512MB model would be fast enough to run Dragon?
I'm excited to finally be moving production to a Mac! This fatty IRS refund is going to pay for the Mac, Dragon, and an HD camera, if Frame Thief has fallen out of favor.
I'm looking forward to your post about why you won't be using the Lunchbox anymore, too.
